Suazo double lifts Monterrey to crown


Humberto Suazo's brace helped Monterrey come from behind the win the Apertura final 5-3 on aggregate.

Suazo scored either side of a Jose Maria Basanta goal as Monterrey swept aside Santos Laguna 3-0 on home turf to overcome a 3-2 deficit from the first leg.

Suazo opened the scoring in the 28th minute and his goal five minutes from time allowed celebrations to begin in earnest after Basanta had doubled the advantage with 72 minutes gone.
